Get help with VideoFile Tools on the web or inside ChatGPT. No VideoFile Tools account is required.

Start with your file

Choose an MP4, MOV, MKV, WebM, AVI or M4V video no larger than 95 MB and no longer than 10 minutes. If a source does not preview, you can still try converting it to MP4. Audio extraction needs an existing audio track.

Processing and downloads

Keep the page open while a job runs. If processing fails, read the error and try a short, non-sensitive sample. For compression, try a larger target size if the requested size cannot be met. For trimming, the end time must be later than the start time and within the video.

Download your finished file promptly. Uploads and results expire after 24 hours; lost or expired private access links cannot be recovered through an account.

Inside ChatGPT

Open VideoFile Tools from a supported video file, import the selected video, choose an operation, and process it. Keep the editor open until processing finishes. Use the editor’s save or download controls to keep the result. Host file permissions may affect which controls are available.

If the editor cannot connect, reopen it and retry with a small sample. Include your ChatGPT platform, extension version and the exact non-sensitive error when reporting a problem.

Report a problem

Describe what you tried, what happened, the approximate time and your browser or ChatGPT platform. Do not include private videos, file contents, complete result links, access tokens or passwords.

Leave your email if you would like us to be able to reply. Requests are stored privately for up to 90 days, separately from uploaded videos. Replies are not guaranteed or immediate. See our privacy notice.
